Donald R. Riley

Don, passed at the age of 68 on Friday, June 24, 2022, at his home. Born on September 27, 1953, in Waterproof, La. to the union of the late Enos and Elizabeth Riley Sr.

 

Don was the baby boy of 12 children and at an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. After graduating from the Tensaw parish public school system, he lived in Indiana and then moved to Marrero, La. until Hurricane Katrina at which point, he moved to Seneca, Sc. where he remained until his death. Don’s first love was his family and children, but he was also an avid basketball fan and music lover with gospel, blue’s and Toni Braxton being among his favorites.

 

He is survived by his children, Cassandra Alexander, Alicia Herod, Donna Scott, Connie Herod, and Angelica Herod of Indiana, Joe Stewart, Erica Riley, and Natasha (Bridget) Riley-Mack of Louisiana, Lance, John, Destiny, and Adrian Glenn of South Carolina, four brothers, George (Rose) Riley, James (Michelle) Riley, Wade (Pat) Riley, Leroy Riley, four sisters, Ernestine Collins, Ruby Ferris, Bessie (Mitchell) Hatton, and Demetrice (Larry) Dix, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one god-child and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife Joette Glenn-Riley, three brothers, Enos Jr., Eugene, and Angle Riley, and two sisters, Anna Mae and Olivia Riley.

 

A memorial service will be held on July 30 ,2022 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Funerals & Cremations Seneca Chapel.
