Divided council OKs support to farm center

A majority of the Oconee County Council echoed support last night for the Foothills Agriculture Resource and Marketing Center on 123 between Seneca and Westminster, but other councilmen say it’s time for the project to look for funding elsewhere from the county’s taxpayers. Councilmen Hart and Durham voted in the minority, as the council by 3-2 approved up to $30 thousand of in-kind materials.  Glenn Hart represents the heavy agriculture base in District Five, but last night he said, it’s “time to wean” the farm center off county money.
