DEVER POWELL
Fair Play- Dever Emma Timms Powell, 96, wife of the late Hoyt Andrew Powell, Jr., passed away on, February 4th, 2024 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 22nd, 1927, in Oconee County, South Carolina, to the late Thomas Albert and Gertrude Ann Slayton Timms. Dever retired from Clemson University where she worked in printing services. She loved to read the Bible and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Dever is survived by her daughters, Patricia Payne (Randall), and Patricia Jenkins; sisters, Martha Hill, and Keiffer Greene; brother, Otha Timms; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and 2 great great-grandchildren on the way; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dever is preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Pitts; stepson, Derrill Powell; 7 brothers and 7 sisters.
Per Dever’s wishes, she was laid to rest at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.
