Developers want to build new homes in Westminster

Westminster’s elected leaders were told last night that developers interested in building new houses in the city are inquiring about incentives the city may have to assist. In recent months, Westminster has made grants available to commercial business developers, but has nothing in place to assist home builders. “Mr. Carter (the city administrator) and I have spoken about it,” Mayor Brian Ramey told the city council. “The two things we can think of would be free sewer taps, free water taps that could save them about $2,500 on new construction projects.” The mayor appeared to have received response from the council that this is an avenue the city should pursue to, in this case, help create a climate for new, single-family homes to their city.
