Destal “Des” Easter

There’s a new ray of sunshine in heaven as Des Easter passed from this life into the arms of Jesus. His loving wife, Leslie, and their granddaughter, Nichole, and husband, Jimmy, cared for him through his battle with vascular dementia and several strokes. Through it all, he never lost his great sense of humor, his love for his family, or his adoration for his savior, Jesus.

He was “Sweet Baboo,” Daddy, Poppy, Poppy Seed, papaw, Harry, Happy Pappy, and dearly loved by all of us. He loved us in return. He had a beautiful smile. A hearty laugh, and was so easy to love.

Des and Leslie belong to Crossgate church PCA and The Gideons International. Des was a knowledgeable Sunday School Teacher and a devout Christian.

Des, Leslie, and son-in-law, Robin, worked together as residential builders for many years. They retired on Lake Keowee in 2003.

In addition to his wife, Des is survived by a daughter: Mollie Anne Stafford (Robin); sister: Regina Munday; grandchildren: Nichole Graham (Jimmy), Jessica Stafford and Lee Stafford; and a great-grandchild: Lily Graham.

Des is preceded in death by his parents: Shela and Jesse Oleda (Riddle) Easter; brother: J.D. Easter; and sisters: Ruth Moore and Jenny Pitchford.
