DeRidder out as county grants writer

Sources confirm this afternoon that the county’s grants writer, Sharon DeRidder, is no longer with Oconee County. Amanda Brock, the interim administrator, confirmed as much just a few minutes ago, but would say little more as she called it a personnel matter governed by confidentiality. We spoke briefly with DeRidder, who says that she and Brock, recently named interim administrator, have had poor relations and inter-actions for a couple of years. There was a flap at this week’s council meeting about the cost of used fire truck. We’ll have further details about the departure of grants writer Sharon DeRidder later on 101.7/WGOG NEWS website, as well as on the radio in the morning.
