Democrats in large numbers gather for their fundraiser

County, state, and national elections are a year away, but Oconee County Democrats who turned out for a fundraiser hold hope that the election year 2020 will bring change to the country. That is how one Oconee Democratic Party worker phrased it for 101.7/WGOG NEWS. In large numbers, county Democrats yesterday paid $25 dollars each to benefit their party’s treasury for an afternoon of mingling, food, music, and speeches. None of the 23 proclaimed hopefuls for the Democratic nomination paid a visit. Most of them were in California for a state party event, but information tables were set up for two of the candidates, Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren, outside the pavilion at South Cove Park.
