Decision anticipated on fall high school sports

High school football workouts are taking place, but it’s an open-ended question of whether fall sports will be permitted in South Carolina.  And for that decision school districts, such as Oconee’s, will defer to the state’s High School League.  However, a decision on how many fans, if any, will be allowed to attend sporting events such as football games is seen as a local decision.  Jennifer Dodd, spokeswoman for Oconee schools, says, “Any decision we make will comply with the Governor’s emergency declaration concerning stadiums (50% capacity or 250, whichever is smaller).  Keeping that in mind, social distancing will certainly apply if fans are allowed into stadiums.”
