David Duncan Jr.

West Union- David Joe Duncan Jr., 57, husband of Rhonda Kay Tollison Duncan, went to be with Jesus on October 19th, 2021. There to meet him were his Granny and Papa Jennings, his father, Tommy Owens and Joe Duncan, and many other family and friends who he loved.

David was born in Oconee County, the son of the late David Joe Duncan Sr. and Patricia Jennings Owens.  David worked as a machinist a Koyo and was known as being kind, out-going, quick-witted, the “Keowee Cowboy” who never met a stranger. No matter the situation or setting, he was making friends and lighting up the room. David had several passions in life; his family, fishing, and the Carolina Gamecocks.

For nearly 36 years, David was married to the love of his life, Rhonda, and the two rarely left each other’s side. They enjoyed traveling, finding new places to fish and eat, and occasionally riding out a seasonal hurricane or two. He was indescribably good and devoted Daddy to three daughters, Michelle Hooper (Joey), Pam Deaton (Michael), and Brandy Wilkie (Tyler). David was also a loving and attentive Pappy to five grandchildren, Michael Crooks, Carter Crooks, Ella Wilkie, Kai Wilkie and Zeke Wilkie. When he wasn’t at work or making real estate deals, you would find him at the court or on the field watching his grandchildren. He never missed a game or an opportunity to brag about each of them. David was adored by his loving mother, Patricia Owens and his siblings, Christy Lyle (Gary), Jason Duncan (Leann) and Bridgett Bowen (Chris). He even had a way of making any and all of his in-laws, friends, and co-workers feel just like family. David always knew what to say, and no one ever had a bad thing to say about him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at Heritage Memorial Garden Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, October 22nd, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
