David Dockins

 

Westminster – David Anthony Dockins, 58, husband of Marie Owens Dockins, left this world to go home, Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 at Prisma Health – Oconee Memorial Hospital.

 

On October 29th, 1962 William “Bill” Dockins and Helen Louise Royster Dockins welcomed a crazy diamond into this world. He spent his life in Oconee County, where he was a farmer, welder, woodworker, nature lover and so much more. He shared his love of history and culture with anybody, he had an open mind and an open heart. David never looked down on others misfortune, he would help others even when he needed help himself.

 

David leaves behind the love of his life, wife, Marie Owens Dockins; his children, Leslie Dockins (Kendal Williams), Jonathan C. Dockins (Kayla Hendricks); grandchildren, Patrick Davis, Kensley Williams, Kendal Williams Jr., Keene Dockins; brothers, Scotty Dockins, Tim Dockins; sisters, Patsy Smith, Judy Rochester, Mary Huff; brother in-law, Phillip Bearden; best friend and brother from another mother, Don Tyner; pet companion, Lucy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.

 

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by brothers, Wayne Dockins, James Dockins; sister, Becky Bearden and long-time pet companion, “Buddy Dog”.

 

The family will be having a private service at a later date.

 

To quote the beloved David, “Write it in the sand and let the rain deal with it”.
