Damaged distribution line to be re-energized

An explanation has been received by 101.7/WGOG NEWS as to why yellow tape surrounded a large piece of electric power apparatus yesterday between Seneca and Clemson.  According to Terry Ballenger, spokesman for Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, a distribution line off 123, the Seneca-Clemson corridor, near the Wells Highway, was damaged by the April 13 tornado.  “We had a way of back feeding over another part of our system in order to get the power back to some of the members affected by this line being damaged…. We set it up for a back feed and got this line out of the way for the time being.  It was just a matter of getting the power back on for some folks quicker than having to repair the line on the spot,” Ballenger told us.
