DALLAS CAIN

Dallas Devan Cain, 91, husband of Hazel Carter Cain, passed away on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at Oconee Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born February 8th, 1932, in the Oakway Community of Oconee County, Dallas was the son of the late Claude Burris and Neta Idoma Martin Cain. Dallas was an employee of Beacon Manufacturing, a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War, a welder at Wabco, and later retired from Valenite. Dallas was a member of the Westminster American Legion Post 107, where he received the 2015 Patriot of the Year award, was a dedicated donor to the paralyzed veteran program, and was very involved in many other organizations that help to support the Veterans.  Mr. Cain also was a member of the Lion’s Club, a former Cub Scout leader with Pack 123, and a member of Westminster Wesleyan Church.

 

Dallas is survived by his beloved wife, Hazel Carter Cain; his sons, Wayne Cain of Massachusetts, and Scotty Cain of Missouri; brother, Alvin Cain; sister, Betty Blair of Westminster; and five grandchildren, Lillian Cain, Grace Cain, Cecilia Cain (Camilo German), Spencer Cain and Charles Dallas Cain.

 

In addition to his parents, Dallas is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Cain, Ray Cain, Harris Cain, Willie Joe Cain, William “Shorty” Cain; sisters, Willene Prichard, Beulah Farmer, Margaret Ann Fain, and Janice Cooley.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 16th, 2023 prior to the service.
