Dabo gets votes in Oconee’s election

The popular football coach Dabo Swinney received write-in votes in the November General Election in Oconee County.  Ryan Nowland, assistant director of registration and elections, says all votes cast for the Tigers’ head mentor were written on the ballot in the section where Oconeeans were asked to write-in names for soil and water and conservation district offices.  But the Swinney name wasn’t the only one which some Oconee voters used their imagination.  Other write-ins were cast for Spot the Dog, Mickey Mouse, Jesus Christ, and Joe Dirt.  Some Oconee voters wrote-in vulgar responses to the write-in lines and Nowland said it’s best that his office does not reveal those.
