Crayton Brock

Taylors- Crayton Remus Brock, 81, husband of Janice Adams Brock, passed away on January 17, 2021, at Prisma Health in Greenville. 

 

Born on December 15, 1939, in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Remus Franklin Brock and Elizbeth Chavis Brock. He attended Clemson College, worked in Charleston, SC, married, and was stationed with the US Army at Fort Meade, MD, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also stationed at Kure Beach, NC. He was the owner of Kings Cleaners in Seneca for several years and then worked in Greenville, SC. Crayton was a member of Seneca Baptist Church, where he served on the Building Committee of the new church building in the 1970s. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years., Janice Adams Brock and his three children – Sherrie Arnold (David) of Alexandria, VA, Kimberly Shiverdecker (David) of Moore, and Allan Brock (Sharon) of Greer; six grandchildren – James Walker, Michael Walker, Bret Walker, Trevor Brock, Lauren Brock, and Madeline Arnold; sister, Betty Pickelsimer (Henry “Pick”) of Fair Play; twin brother Carlus Brock (Sally) of Seneca; and many nieces and nephews. 

 

Private graveside services will be conducted at Oconee Memorial Park on Thursday, January 21, 2021, with full military honors. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and concerns for the health of family and friends, Crayton’s family ask that all who attend the private graveside service please wear face masks and practice social distancing.

The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prisma Health Office of Philanthropy – Pulmonary Fund.
