COVID decline in Oconee school populations

Here’s a COVID-19-related statement from Oconee public schools:  “As of now, the district is going to stay the course with our current guidelines and procedures.  We are seeing a significant decline in the number of cases among students and staff across all schools.”  That statement from Jennifer Dodd, spokeswoman for the Oconee School District, is the response to a 101.7/WGOG NEWS inquiry as to whether the public schools will take up a DHEC recommendation that schools use the TTS program, the Test to Stay program that would allow rapid tests to be performed on K-12 students who have been exposed to a COVID-19 infected person in the hope that more of them can remain in class.
