Court week next week

The Hon. Lawton McIntosh of Anderson will hold the gavel for a term of General Sessions Court at the Oconee Courthouse Monday through Friday next week in Walhalla.  To prepare for the term, a meeting of the Oconee Grand Jury was conducted November 2.  The grand jury is now meeting privately in the large 4th floor courtroom where there are precautions in place to tamp down the possibility that one grand juror can pass COVID-19 to another.  According to Clerk of Court-elect Lisa Burton, “We have measures in place to adhere to social distancing guidelines and we are providing hand sanitizer.  We have disinfecting wipes and spray in the courtroom as well.  They are also required to wear masks.”
