County offices re-open after malware incident

Oconee County officials say government offices will re-open today after yesterday’s shutdown due to computer troubles.  Announcement from the sheriff’s office states the software malware has been identified and isolated. According to Amanda Brock, county administrator, all county offices will do business today, although some may have limited resources only until all systems are fully restored.  The Sheriff’s Office, SLED, and the FBI are tryin g to determine who is responsible for the malware that can damage a computer and network.
