County fathers to hold their first February meeting

The regular first Tuesday meeting of Oconee County Council is set for 6 o’clock tomorrow night in the council chambers at the Pine Street administrative complex in Walhalla.  There are a number of big-ticket spending items on the agenda.  Including $1.2 million worth of self-contained breathing apparatuses for the fire fighters who are part of county Emergency Services.  The council is to consider a recommendation to apply up to $300 thousand of American Rescue Plan money as a commitment toward designating 15.7 miles of the county for a regional greenway trail. The project would involve Oconee County, the city of Clemson, Clemson University, and the town of Pendleton.  And part of tomorrow night’s agenda will allow the public to comment on a county re-districting plan that has been discussed for the last couple of months.
