Council members disagree on timetable for Moulder successor

Two members of Oconee County Council say it’s important for the county to quickly name an interim administrator, but they disagree on the timetable for finding Scott Moulder’s permanent replacement. In an answer to a 101.7/WGOG NEWS question, District Four’s Julian Davis says it’s his hope the choice of a permanent replacement will be delayed until January—following this year’s elections. Davis notes that, dependent on the elections, council membership could change in at least one district. That’s a reference to what now is a three-candidate field for the seat held by District One’s Edda Cammick. But the council chairwoman had a two-word reply yesterday to that suggestion: “No way.” A minute later Cammick said this, “The sooner we find a replacement the better.”
