Council meeting spectator ejected…and arrested

A member of the public exercised his right to attend last night’s Seneca City Council meeting, but the police said his behavior was inappropriate both inside the council chambers and on the outside.  As a result, Stoney Lee Medlin of highway 182, Fair Play was removed from the meeting room and cited by the police for public disorderly conduct and given a trip to the county lockup.  According to Major Jeremy Rothell, at one point, Medlin walked to the council table and touched the shoulder of City Administrator Scott Moulder.  The incident was witnessed by Officer Albrecht, as well as a number of other police officers who were part of the meeting audience.  According to Albrecht’s report, “I attempted to explain to him (Medlin) that his behavior was inappropriate during the city council meeting and he was causing a disturbance.  I then escorted him to the (Seneca Police) Department, where then Medlin attempted to flee and proceeded to run up N. Depot Street and down E.N. 1st Street.  I pursued Medlin and detained him and placed him under arrest….”
