Council gets flak over Brinson’s ouster

Grant Keehn, a first-term Walhalla councilman, hints he might have something to say as the result of the questions of and the criticisms about the sudden departure last week of the police chief.  Last night’s meeting, however, turned out to be the improper forum as Mayor Edwards, explaining the item was not on the council committees’ meeting agenda, cut Keehn off as he sought to make a response.  The councilman told 101.7/WGOG NEWS  afterward he will see about holding his comments until the council’s regular February meeting in two weeks.  During the public comment part last night Keehn and his colleagues were on the receiving end of what eight people had to say about Sean Brinson’s resignation.  Several of the public comment speakers last night chided the city’s elected leaders for what they considered lack of transparency about why Brinson resigned, a resignation that Brinson has said was not voluntary.
