Coronavirus response money to private Westminster school

A Westminster school will share in the funding for 111 non-public South Carolina schools, receiving monies from a program created by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.  The announcement by State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman includes $341,655.28 for the Foothills Christian School on Westminster’s Robin Road.  In all, the 111 non-public South Carolina schools receive a total of $38.7 million. Spearman said, “These funds were appropriated by Congress specifically to address the needs of our private and parochial schools that have faced similar challenges to our public education system.”
