Construction worker charged with grand theft

The police in Seneca say a construction worker has been charged with burglary and grand larceny at a work site on W. Quincy Road. The crimes were reported Wednesday last week after the homeowner returned after having taken a friend to a Columbia doctor’s appointment. Law enforcement authorities today listed the arrest and grand larceny charges against Westminster area resident Tillman Lamar Gibson. Among items reported stolen from the home was an assortment of jewelry, including a diamond sapphire ring and a custom made 14 karat gold ring. Chief John Covington said some of the stolen property has been recovered and efforts are being made to retrieve other items.
