Complications from drowning take life of veterinarian

A veterinarian in Clemson has died from what the coroner says are complications from drowning.  Seneca resident Derek E. Lindsey died yesterday morning in the Greenville Memorial Hospital.  He was 47 years old.  Oconee Coroner Karl Addis says Lindsey, a Hillandale Road, Seneca resident, went swimming in Lake Keowee near his home last Saturday and was searching for missing sunglasses.  He went under water to look and did not resurface, the coroner said.  Emergency services were called shortly after 4:30 pm.  Efforts at re-suscitation were tried and Lindsey was flown to the Greenville Memorial Hospital and admitted into intensive care.
