Co-defendant in 2019 Seneca homicide pleads guilty

One of two young men arrested during investigation of a Seneca homicide has pleaded guilty and will await sentencing, perhaps not until early next year.  There were indications this afternoon in the General Sessions Court that defendant Hunter Lee Hunnicutt will cooperate with the prosecution as it plans a trial for Hunnicutt’s co-defendant.  Judge McIntosh was told by prosecutor Alderman that co-defendant Decota Brown is accused of fatally shooting his grandmother, Geraldine Castle.  Both Brown and Hunnicutt were also accused of burglarizing the home in which they found Castle.  This afternoon Hunnicutt pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and burglary first degree, but declined to make a further statement when asked by Judge Lawton McIntosh.
