Closing costs boost the JKAT price tag

At the end of next week, Walhalla will take possession of downtown privately-owned property over which it’ll be able to dictate its future.  The official transaction to close the deal between the city and JKAT for 1.33 acres on Main Street, bordering S. College, is scheduled Friday, May 29.  The total bill will increase by $45 thousand, according to City Administrator Brent Taylor, to reflect the land deal closing costs.  The increase will make it a $280 thousand transaction, instead of $235 thousand.  The property includes a large grassy lot and a paving parked lot.
