Clinton Calvin Carter

Westminster – Clinton Calvin Carter, 96, husband of Viola Alexander Carter, passed away on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at his residence.

 

Born in Westminster, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur Franklin and Carrie Blackwell Carter. Clint retired from Torrington Company as a supervisor. He was a faithful member of Clearmont Baptist Church where he served as a deacon along with other leadership positions. Clint was the true embodiment of a kind, soft-spoken, and humble man of God. He married the love of his life, Viola Alexander, November 17, 1946, and they shared an enviable and love-filled 73 years together. He was never a stranger to anyone and was loved by everyone. Clint will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

 

In addition to his wife, Clint is survived by a son, Calvin Carter and his wife Agnes; daughter, Nancy Hudson and her husband Roger; four grandchildren, Lindsey Rothell, Jason Carter, Katelan Hudson and Abbey Hudson; four great-grandchildren, Ella Rothell, Lily Rothell, Pressley and Jack Carter; and sister, Rosa Driver.

 

In addition to his parents, Clint is preceded in death by brothers; Russell, Gus, and Auldine Carter; and sister, Ovaline Cox.

 

Due to the current pandemic and for the safety and consideration of others, no public service will be held.
