Clemson University Smoking Ban

Officials with Clemson University say a new task force is being formed to help make the campus a smoke free campus by 2014.  George Clay, the Executive director of Student Health Services at Clemson says the college recognizes the trend among higher education to go tobacco free, and its time Clemson does the same thing.  The school has already banned smoking within 25 feet of its buildings.  Clay says the college leaders have decided to make the ban campus wide, but the college is assembling a task force to write the policy.  Clemson would become the 4th college in South Carolina to ban tobacco use campus wide.  The other SC colleges with smoking bans are Charleston Southern, Lander, and USC-Upstate.  Other schools, such as university of South Carolina have indoor smoking bans
