Former South Carolina defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward will join Clemson’s football staff, a source familiar with the process told 7 News Sports Wednesday night.  Ward’s move to Clemson was first reported by David Hood of Tigernet.com.  Ward, who spent the past five seasons running Chattanooga’s defense, is a longtime acquaintance of Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney going back to their days at Alabama as teammates in the late ’80s and early ’90s.  Ward served as Steve Spurrier’s defensive coordinator at USC from 2009-2015.  There has been no formal announcement by Clemson of Ward’s hiring and his bio remains on the Chattanooga athletic website. Ward has changed his profile picture on X to one with him in Clemson attire.
