Claude Pelfrey

 

Westminster – Claude James Pelfrey, 76, husband of the late Betty Jean James Pelfrey, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Claude was the son of the late Rev. Leander Holland Pelfrey and Essie Mae Ramey Pelfrey.  Claude worked for Daniel Construction and later retired from Duke Power where he was a crane operator.  Claude was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam, attended Holly Springs Baptist Church, and he enjoyed restoring classic cars, country music, and was very passionate about his Native American Heritage.

 

Claude is survived by his sisters, Sarah Cobb, Dovie Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Claude is preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Pelfrey, Homer Pelfrey, Lewis Pelfrey, Ernest Pelfrey, Glen Pelfrey; and sisters, Ethelene Clark and Martha Fulbright.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home
