There is a new person running the City of Seneca’s museums and it is a familiar face, Nick McKinney, the former curator of the Scarborough-Hamer Collection. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander gives details. “Nick has taken over the operation and the running of the Lunney. Dr. John Martin is still there. So, we are just excited Nick is going to bring some different leadership to the table too, but I appreciate all of Dr. Martin’s hard work too and he is still here and everybody is working together and that is great.” The museum is closed right now, adds Mayor Alexander. “Right now, the Lunney is under some more renovations, it’s closed right now there some things there that need to be done. We’re going to have look at redoing some rewiring of the house, electrical work. We noticed that this week that there were some things there that we needed to take care of before we actually opened it back up to the public. So, working on that right now and Nick is sort of steer heading all that and making sure that we take care of everything that we need to be taking care of at the Lunney House Museum.” To learn more about the City of Seneca’s museums, visit www.seneca.sc.us.
