City dumpsters overflow with discarded cardboard

Re-cycling has taken a hit during the pandemic, but Walhalla may have a solution to the trash dumpsters of Main Street merchants overflowing with used cardboard and general waste.  Brandon Burton, city administrator, announced last night the city will order larger dumpsters to accommodate Main Street businesses.  Used cardboard mixed with regular trash can’t be re-cycled, but there’s still a way for Walhallans to ensure that their cardboard gets re-used.  The city public works department on S. Cedar Street accepts cardboard, provided it is not mixed with other trash.
