Cindy Butts

Westminster – Cynthia Denise “Cindy” James Butts, 62, wife of James Patton Butts, of 242 Ridge Creek Lane, passed away on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

 

Cindy was born in Oconee County and was the daughter of the late Andy and Louise Keasler James. Cindy was a Westminster High School Graduate Class of 1977 and worked as a clerk at the West Union Post Office and later retired from the United Postal Service, as the Postmaster of the Long Creek Post Office.  Cindy was a very active member of Calvary Church, having served for twenty-two years as the secretary of the Young Adult Sunday School Class, and twenty years as the secretary of the Men and Women of Action Mission Organization, her family was her life and her passions were watching her boys perform at church as a part of the worship team. One of Cindy’s greatest love was spending time with her family at Ocean Lakes Campground and all the memories that they made.

 

Cindy is survived by her husband, James Patton Butts of forty-four years and sons, Brett Butts (Rebecca) of Westminster, Brandon Butts (Ashley) of Townville; sisters, Gayle James of Seneca, Deborah James Powell (Wayne) of Seneca; special niece, Ami Baker (Randy) of Westminster; sister cousin, Susan Peay Hoover (Jonathan) of Westminster; seven grandchildren; Andy Butts, Simon Butts, Ty Butts, Mady Butts, Tate Butts,  Sam Baker (Morgan), Ben Baker; and a great-grandchild, MJ Baker.

 

A funeral service will be held, 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 19th, 2021, at Calvary Church with burial to follow at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, June 18th, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at Sandifer Funeral Home, and Cindy will lie in state at Calvary Church on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, prior to the service.
