Chris Eleazer saw the Field of Dreams game

Iowa’s cornfields may seem an odd place to spend part of your summer vacation.  Not for Chris Eleazer.  The executive director of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority, his son, Markham, and Mr. Eleazer’s roommate from college scored tickets for last week’s “Field of Dreams” game in Dyersville, Iowa.  The farm and its cornfields were the setting for the Field of Dreams movie that depicted a farmer who built a baseball field amid rows of corn that attracted the ghosts of some of baseball’s greatest players.  Chris Eleazer described last week’s game there between the Cincinnati Reds and his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs, as incredible.  The TV broadcasts of the Field of Dreams do not do justice, Eleazer believes, to the experience of being there to see a Major League game, as he put it, “out in the middle of nowhere.”
