Charles McAlister
Westminster– Charles William McAlister, 80, husband of Lois Blackwell McAlister, passed away Saturday, May 27th, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Stephens County, Georgia, Charles was the son of the late Garnett McAlister and Ellen Murray McAlister. Charles worked at TRW and later retired from Torrington, was a member of Fairview Church of God.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Blackwell McAlister of 61 years of marriage; daughter, Denise Hill (Wayne Roach) of Westminster; brother, Joe McAlister of Westminster; sisters, Fannie Lou Smith of New Jersey, Martha Pelfrey of Walhalla, Betty Barker of Westminster; two grandchildren, Nikki Howard and Laura Taylor; and four great grandchildren, Jasmine Dorsey, Katlyn Dorsey, “Little” Charlie Dorsey and Alexis Sanford; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his infant twin daughters, Charlene and Arlene McAlister; brothers, Frank McAlister and James McAlister; sisters, Beulah McAlister Chappell and Emily Bramlett; and a son in-law, Larry Hill.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rocky Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral home.
