Chamber eliminates executive director position

Effective yesterday, the Oconee Chamber of Commerce no longer has an executive director.  The position, held by JoAnn Johnson for the last 11 months, has been eliminated, and the reasons are being attributed as budgetary, including the limitations that the pandemic has placed on the duties of the position.  Personally, Johnson is now pursuing other avenues for her future.  For the time being, chamber-member relations are being handled by the chamber’s board of directors, led by the chairperson Denise McCormick.
