Challenger wants to change culture from within

In this year’s primary, a contest is guaranteed for the office of Oconee Sheriff between the two-term incumbent Mike Crenshaw and one of his employees, Amanda Tinsley, an officer in the criminal investigations division. Both are matched up in the June Republican primary, with the winner’s name to go on the November ballot. There is no Democrat or other party sheriff candidates announced for the November General Election ballot. In a statement released to 101.7/WGOG NEWS, Tinsley explains her bid to unseat her boss is intent to change what she calls the “internal culture” in the office. She says, “Being an employee, I have been privy to information that I cannot ignore in good conscience. I will be releasing information on my website informing the citizens of the County about the series of events that God has allowed me to experience that have convinced me to run.”
