Chairman changes committee assignments

John Elliott remains chairman of the budget committee of the Oconee County Council.  However, council’s new chairman, Matthew Durham, made changes in other appointments for 2023 announced at the start of last night’s meeting.  Council’s newest member, Don Mize, picked up lead roles as chairman of the law enforcement and the planning and economic development committees.  Mize, the council member from Seneca, was named in place of Julian Davis as the council’s representative on the Oconee Business Education Partnership.  Oconee will have new representatives to the region’s government service organization, the South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments in Greenville.  Glenn Hart succeeds Elliott as the council representative on “A-COG.”  Mickey Haney in place of Julian Davis as citizen representative; and Roel Cruz in place of Marta Wahlen as minority representative.
