Centralizing operations in Bountyland

Bountyland Community near Seneca has often been considered close to the geographic center of Oconee County. A school district administrator says it also approximates the population center of the county, and that’s partly why some school services will be centralized there. In a vote by the county trustees last night, the current career center in Bountyland will be re-fitted to serve as the home for the alternative program, adult education, food services, and other operations. Steve Hanvey, assistant superintendent for operations, says the move won’t come until August 2020, when the Hamilton Career Center is scheduled to move to a new building in the Information and Technology Park on highway 11. The shuffling of offices also means a change of plans for adult education services. They will not move with the career center to the industrial park.
