Census takers to get creative

In an attempt to shore up lagging response numbers, Census takers plan to take to the streets starting next week equipped with iPads to help people respond to the 2020 population count.  Don’t be surprised to see census takers outside stores, libraries, and churches, places where people congregate.  But they stress they’ll only offer the assistance with respect to social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment.  New response numbers for sections of Oconee County show a range from below 40% to nearly 64% with 100% the desired goal.
