This afternoon’s special Westminster City Council meeting has been cancelled, the city announced today.

After the autopsy, the Oconee coroner says no obvious injuries or other definitive cause of death was found in the case of Kendall Todd Hawkins. The remains of the missing 47-year old Westminster man were found late last week near Seneca. Coroner Karl Addis says, based on the condition of the remains, the manner of death is undetermined.

Like other funeral providers in Oconee, Keowee Funeral Services in Seneca is conducting services but limiting crowds to 50 people or fewer.   Keowee Funeral Services is also video-taping services.

The current map published by South Carolina DHEC shows Oconee County with its first two cases of COVID-19 coronavirus.  While there are two cases of Oconeeans, there are no deaths from the disease.
