Three, 24-hour COVID-19 counts

For the latest three days of counts available, the state health agency has recorded COVID-19 test positivity at below 10%.  On Thursday, it was 7.7%; on Friday, 7.7%; and on Saturday, 6.7%.  However, three days of deaths statewide amounted to 106, including three Oconeeans who were recorded on Friday as dead from the virus.

A spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office says there has been a verbal confirmation that a missing Salem woman has been located and is safe.  Over the weekend, Jennifer Nicole McLane was the subject of a missing person’s report, after having not been seen for a week. Lone fisherman unaccounted for

A man on a solo fishing hike to the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River remains unaccounted for this morning, according to Allen White, chief of the Mountain Rest Volunteer Fire Department.  White says the search for him resumes this morning.  His SUV has been found, but no sign of him and, according to White, his family is concerned.

Two in car allegedly trafficked heroin
