Clemson University sponsors a program tonight in Seneca for youngsters and their guardians or parents. “Cultivating your Community” is designed for children 10 to 14 and their parents or guardians at 6 o’clock at the Blue Ridge Community Center.  It’s a 24-week “STEM” program that offers history and culture, plant science, along with health and nutrition.

A car accident early last night near Seneca  blocked traffic for a period of time.  According to the fire department, the vehicles involved wound up on 130/the Rochester Highway, in the vicinity of the Dollar General.  The accident occurred around the 7 o’clock hour.

Today is the official start of tax season, and the United Way of Oconee will again offer Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.  The program, starting February 8, is available to any person or household whose incomes are $60 thousand or less.  The volunteer preparers are IRS advanced certified.  Appointments are being taken by calling 2-1-1.
