Blackwell merits advanced accreditation

Oconee County’s chief economic development recruiter has earned South Carolina Certified Economic Developer status by completing the S.C. Economic Developers’ Advanced Symposium. Richard Blackwell completed a course to provide an advanced education experience in theory and practice of economic development. Topics covered included workforce and leadership development, product and infrastructure development, negotiation and deal structuring, and marketing and communications.

$10 thousand pay raise for Moulder

Scott Moulder’s new three-year deal to continue as Oconee County Administrator will pay him an extra $10 thousand a year and jump his base salary to $155 thousand. According to action approved last night by the County Council, Moulder can look forward to unspecified adjustments in his pay in the years going forward.

Marijuana plants seized in Walhalla home

Oconee Sheriff’s Department announced drug charges this afternoon against a 52-year old Walhalla man. Working with Seneca and Walhalla police officers, county investigators say they seized money, weapons, and 67 marijuana plants yesterday from the Country Acres Road home of David Scott Foster.
