First-year student Virginia Gilliam of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Sunday morning at Anderson Area Medical Center. Virginia was a special education major who attended Wando High School.  She lived on campus in Manning Hall. There is no public health concern. Counseling and Psychological Services is providing grief counseling. Students who want to speak to a counselor should contact CAPS at 864-656-2451.
