Burglars stole T-V sets and damaged the recreation center building at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls Golf Course. Oconee sheriff’s officers believe the burglary occurred between 4 and 6:30 yesterday morning. The stolen Sony televisions are worth hundreds of dollars. The burglars broke two lamps and left an estimated $250 dollars damage to the wall.  

New budgets for a new year undergo public scrutiny tonight in Oconee County. The County Council will welcome the public for comment and questions about the budgets proposed for county government, the public schools, and the Keowee Fire District. Tonight’s meeting at Pine Street begins at 6 o’clock.

A changing of the guard awaits the Westminster Rotary Club. On July 1, Bill Callahan will begin a one-year term as club president. And at tomorrow’s meeting Callahan will present his plan for 2015-16. The Rotary Club’s new officers will be inducted in a June 30 ceremony at Magnolia Manor.

A community center in West Union is one of the topics for tomorrow night’s meeting of West Union Town Council.  The council will also hear from Scott Shaffer of YoGo Express restaurant.  The council meets at 6 at Town Hall.

The Sheriff’s Office credits routine road patrols and enforcement efforts for the removal of pills and methamphetamine over the weekend in Oconee County. Five people were arrested and seized were 40 pills and more than 28 grams of methamphetamine.
