Michelin’s option on property at Oconee’s Golden Corner Commerce Park runs through the rest of the year. There is still no word on whether the manufacturer will locate a distribution center there. But yesterday the county’s chief recruiter of economic development urged continued patience. Appearing before a county committee, Richard Blackwell said, “Good things come to those that wait.”

Last day to file an application

Today is the last day to make application to become Walhalla’s next director public works. James Moore, after 25 years with the city, retires June 30. By yesterday morning, City Administrator Nancy Goehle said four applicants had filed. Those applications are to be referred to a city council committee for review.
