Museum contents possible for Seneca

Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander confirmed this morning his city is in talks for the donation to the city of what we are told is $1 million worth of museum-caliber furniture.  According to the mayor, the city expects word in December on the potential donation of what he says represents furniture contents of a museum.

Oconee beefs up its unemployment rolls

Between September and October, an additional 330 people were added to Oconee’s workforce.  The state reported today that the county’s jobless rate fell again in October—-to 5.3% from September’s 5.6%.  At 5.3%, Oconee remains in the lower one third of the state’s counties for the lowest unemployment rates.  Jasper, Greenville, and Charleston counties are the lowest at 4.7% while Orangeburg, […]

Traffic devices being moved

The contractor will move traffic devices on Walhalla’s Main Street today—-to prepare for the start of demolition on the south side of the street at Main and Catherine.  That demolition work is to begin on Monday.  According to contractor Hutch ‘N Son, it hopes to affix additional lane striping this afternoon.

Grant request comes thru for Westminster
