Carol Strickland
Westminster– Carol Elaine Freeman Strickland, 80, wife of William “Bill” Strickland, passed away on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Westminster, South Carolina, Carol was the daughter of the late Cleroy Freeman and Lena Moore Freeman. Carol was a graduate of Westminster High School Class of 1960 and later attended Forest College. Carol was a member of Westminster Baptist Church and a member of the Westminster Garden Club, and a past piano player at Clearmont Baptist Church.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Bill Strickland of 56 years; and her sons, Mark Strickland and Joseph Strickland of Westminster; sisters, Dora Ann Padgett of San Antonio, Texas and Sandra Moore of Seneca, South Carolina; two step grandchildren, Randi Nicole Hospelhorn McAlister and Michael S. Hospolhorn.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Matthew Strickland; and a brother, Jack Stansell Freeman.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, December 26th, 2022 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, December 26th, 2022 prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
