Car speeds as high as 100 mph thru town

Walhallans are still wondering what happened to the driver and a car that sped thru the downtown one day late last week.  Police Chief Sean Brinson says the suspect car was a black Dodge Charger with a North Carolina license plate.  At 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon, the car passed Main Street intersections at speeds, witnesses estimate, that reached 100 miles an hour, flying past traffic lights and weaving in and out of traffic.  The police were unable to stop the car.  It was headed out of town, north on 28 toward Mountain Rest.
